Position Summary

This is a very exciting time to join the HR Team in Search as we are going through an internal transformation since inception in order to support the organization is in the process of implementing a new strategic direction for the next five years.

Reporting to the Global HR Director with a dotted line to the Regional Directors, the Regional HR Manager role will be ​responsible for ​providing HR services and support to management and staff of Sub Saharan regions. S/he will roll out HR plans in alignment with Search global HR strategic planning and standards and in coordination with HR country teams. We are looking for someone who is passionate about supporting people through organizational change!

Key Responsibilities

Roles and responsibilities include:

  • Partners with the Regional Management team to develop and implement the HR regional plan and activities.
  • Provides HR guidance when appropriate to meet HR standards in field offices.
  • Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations.
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with local legal counsels​ as needed/required.
  • Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
  • Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation.
  • ​assignments and related HR matters.
  • Provides recruitment support for key roles.
  • Provides guidance and input on country offices workforce planning.
  • Develop training plans, facilitates HR trainings ensuring that training objectives are met.

Qualifications

  • At least five years of progressive experience as an HR professional​ in an international environment​ with multiple offices
  • Human resource management experience in developing countries
  • Working knowledge of human resources related laws​ and the ability to understand different labor markets requirements​
  • Proficiency using HRIS systems, Microsoft suite and Google Docs
  • Ability to operate at all levels in a complex environment
  • Fluency in English and French languages is required

  • The ability to juggle different responsibilities while managing competing priorities.
  • This position will require 15% travelling.
