Monitoring Evaluation Accountability and Learning (MEAL) INTERN

The MEAL intern will support Mureke Dusome MEAL Specialist and Officer in advancing the strategic objectives and performing MEAL activities. S/he will support in the delivery of an effective MEAL function and s/he will play a key role in the ensuring the Mureke Dusome project has the data necessary to understand what is working in the project and what needs improvement, as well as ensuring expansion of Save the Children programmes to increase impact and enable positive change for children

In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal job description and be able to vary working hours accordingly.

Qualifications and experience

  • This position demands a dynamic individual with good analytical skills
  • A degree in Statistics or any social science discipline is desirable
  • Have solid knowledge and practical experience in data collection and analysis
  • Demonstrated capacity to coordinate complex activities, meet deadlines and manage deliverables on varying timetables and priority levels, and to exercise sound judgment
  • Willingness to accept and absorb direct critique to improve work quality and results
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural team
  • The capacity and willingness to work well on their own initiative and respond to challenges, seeking out guidance where needed
  • Proven high level of computer literacy and high facility for using the Microsoft Office Suite (with emphasis on Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Experience with indicators, M&E, project review would be highly desirable
  • Experience in child rights programming desirable
  • Willingness to sign and abide by the Save the Children Child Safeguarding Policy

Contract length: 10 Months
